It sounds like a broken record, but this week more high temperature records fell across the South and the Ohio Valley. Chattanooga broke a high temperature record that stood for over 30 years on Friday by reaching a high of 100° F!

Heat advisories have been issued in Washington state, Idaho, and Oregon through Sunday due to heat indices upwards of 100-105° F.

Thankfully, a cold front will drop temperatures and humidity for many areas heading through Labor Day weekend, and the first week of September!

Here's the good news, the CPC Temperature Outlook gives much of the Central and East a chance to stay below average through week of September. However, temperatures out west are almost certain to stay well above average.

Remember to stay hydrated and try to limit time spent outside in the extreme heat, if at all possible.
